Field Guide to the Carnivorous Plants of Sydney and the Blue Mountains

$25.00

Australia boasts more carnivorous plants than any other nation with more than 190 recognised species from 6 genera. They inhabit a variety of environments, from tropical rainforest, alpine mountains, deserts, seasonally humid plains and forest. Some species have tubers that enable them to survive seasonal drought; others complete their life cycle during periods of sufficient rainfall and survive to the next season as seed.

Twenty three of these species, and their sub-species, are found within a 100 kilometre radius of Sydney, protected by the establishment of National Parks and nature reserves.

This field guide was created by the Australasian Carnivorous Plant Society Inc. to assist those wanting to see these species in their natural habitat. Each listed species has one specific and easy to visit GPS coordinate which is also marked by a star on the map. Simply put the GPS coordinate into the map application on your smart phone and follow the directions.
