About Us

We are an eclectic group of people from all walks of life drawn together by common goals of protecting, preserving and appreciating the Royal and surrounding National Parks.

Friends of the Royal National Park Inc. (Friends or FoR), focus on  the three reserves within the Royal Area of the Metropolitan South-West Region of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service : Royal National Park, Heathcote National Park, and Garrawarra State Conservation Area.

The first Planning Meeting to set up the Friends of Royal was in 2009 proceeding through a series of meetings until the first official meeting happened in 2010. There were 50 Foundation Members.

Our membership now covers a wide range of interests, expertise and contributions to the ideals of the Friends.

In 2011 Friends became Incorporated, which gave us a stronger sense of purpose and recognition
